Tidak tanggung-tanggung, untuk pembangunan pabrik baru itu industri yang terletak di Kelurahan Gerem, Kecamatan Grogol, Kota Cilegon ini telah menggelontorkan nilai investasi sebesar US$ 156 juta dengan kapasitas produksi 25.000 ton per tahun.

“Sebelumnya berkapasitas 20.000 ton, jadi kapasitas produksi saat ini mencapai 45.000 ton. Kemudian hasil produknya kemana? Sementara ini karena yang memakai produk kita ini belum ada di Indonesia, teknologi tinggi untuk aplikasi awalnya seperti handphone, televisi digital sekarang ini masuk kepada untuk generasi telekomunikasi 5G sama 6G. Jadi belum ada yang mampu membuat itu di Indonesia, jadi selama ini hampir 100 persen ekspor,” ungkap Presiden Direktur PT MFI, Bambang H Sastrosatomo dalam keterangan persnya.

Dijelaskan, pabrik baru ini akan segera berproduksi secara komersial dengan hampir semua produk akan diekspor yang dapat menghasilkan devisa senilai 85 juta dollar AS per tahun. Dalam pembangunannya, MFI bahkan turut melibatkan pengusaha dan pekerja lokal.

“Dari awal kita berdiri (tahun 1995), kita menomor satukan lokal. Tetapi karena ini berkualitas tinggi, maka lokal pun harus yang berkualitas. Karena apa? Kalau kita mengoperasikan ini lalai maka keselamatan yang kita khawatirkan. Kalau mesin teknologi tinggi ini dioperasikan dengan lalai maka kita akan mendapat komplain dari customer, itu merupakan kerugian. Oleh karena itu kita harus menseleksi juga, meskipun kami kemarin itu merekrut untuk tenaga tetap di pabrik ini 100 orang, 80 persen itu dari sini, Cilegon Serang, itu mesti kita banggakan dan itupun melalui seleksi yang ketat. Jadi itu sudah menjadi bagian dari komitmen kita, kita harus bangga dengan Indonesia dan buktikan bahwa kita sanggup melakukan produksi sejajar dengan bangsa lain,” terangnya.

Ia berharap, dengan peningkatan kapasitas produksi ini akan menjadi magnet bagi investor lainnya untuk pengembangan industri hilir.

Diketahui, untuk proyek pekerjaan Piping Fabrication, Construction and Installation di proyek pembuatan pabrik baru itu, PT MFI menggandeng PT Cilegon Karya Nusa (CKN), sebuah perusahaan lokal yang menjadi kontraktor utama (main contractor) untuk pekerjaan piping works yang memberdayakan sekira 350 orang pekerja, dimana lebih dari 95 persennya adalah pekerja lokal dari area Cilegon.

“Alhamdulillah kami dipercaya memegang dua kontrak pekerjaan di proyek pembuatan pabrik baru PT MFI ini. Durasi proyek 20 bulan, dengan total pengelasan sebanyak 67.060 DB (Dia-Inch), dengan jam kerja sebanyak 406.808 jam,” ungkap Marketing Manager PT CKN, Dedy Yumanta.

Dedy memandang pekerjaan besar ini sebagai sebuah tantangan tersendiri karena sudah melalui persaingan dengan perusahaan asing, selain pekerjaan sejenis yang sudah dijalankan PT CKN selama ini.

“Kami berterima kasih yang sebesar-besarnya atas kesempatan yang diberikan kepada kami untuk berpartisipasi dalam MFI –IFC Project ini. Kami, sebagai perusahaan Indonesia yang berada di sekitar area bisnis Perusahaan MFI, sangat bersyukur telah menerima tantangan besar yang dihadirkan dalam proyek ini,” katanya.

Pabrik baru ini diresmikan oleh Direktur Jenderal Industri Kimia Farmasi dan Tekstil (IKFT) Kementerian Perindustrian RI, Igantius Warsito dan turut disaksikan Penjabat Gubernur Banten Al Muktabar, Presidem Direktur PT Mitsubishi Chemical Indonesia (MCCI), Cho Nomura, perwakilan dari Kedutaan Besar Jepang dan Ketua DPRD Cilegon, Isro Mi’raj.

Kabar adanya pengusaha lokal yang menjadi kontraktor utama dalam project itu pun segera diapresiasi oleh Ketua DPRD Cilegon, Isro Mi’raj yang memandang hal itu sebagai bukti bahwa pengusaha Kota Cilegon saat ini sudah berkualifikasi untuk menggarap sebuah pekerjaan industri konstruksi yang besar.

“Terlepas sebagai Ketua DPRD, saya sebagai bagian masyarakat lokal tentunya turut banggalah, apalagi pengusaha lokal ini sudah menunjukkan kalau dia mampu bersaing dengan perusahaan luar daerah. Berarti kan keahlian yang dimiliki pengusaha lokal tidak bisa dipandang sebelah mata,” ujarnya.

Secara umum, lanjut Isro, sudah cukup banyak kualifikasi pengusaha lokal yang sudah cukup membanggakan, termasuk dalam hal pekerjaan konstruksi.

“Ini harus menjadi perhatian, bahwa tidak semua pengusaha lokal itu tidak mampu. Hanya saja kesempatan yang belum diberikan. Buktinya kan ini mampu, saya ikut bangga. Apalagi sampai menjadi main contractor, tentu multiplier effect-nya dia juga akan menggandeng subcon lokal, dan menyerap tenaga kerja lokal yang secara otomatis akan membantu kerja pemerintah, walaupun nanti pemerintahnya mengklaim,” katanya.
